Timeless Design, Sustainably Crafted
STREAM is a residential design practice founded by Noah Demarest, a licensed and registered architect and landscape architect. Noah’s expertise lies in designing residential buildings that are aesthetically aligned with the rich architectural heritage of the Finger Lakes region, drawing inspiration from structures built 100-200 years ago that have stood the test of time. His deep understanding of regional geography, history, and culture allows him to create new and renovated high-performance buildings that are not only architecturally sound but also culturally resonant and contextually appropriate.
Noah’s designs are rooted in sustainability, using local resources and natural materials to create durable, environmentally friendly buildings that avoid the pitfalls of disposable culture and materials that are harmful to health and well being. He prioritizes the quality and longevity of the work, ensuring each project not only meets but exceeds contemporary performance standards.

“A structure that is loved will last”

“I slept in my new house last night and when I woke up I experienced sheer delight. The sun comes up through the windows of the bedroom nook and lights up the room. Many thanks for believing in me and my dream, and helping it come alive!”
—Wendy K. Cayuga Heights, NY
“Noah presented an innovative design that dealt with the constraints of the space to be remodeled. The rendering that he presented gave us a visual concept of his proposal allowing us to understand the design and how it would meet our objectives for the project. He gave careful consideration to both the inside and outside spaces resulting in a successful renovation when viewed from both directions. The window and door placements were very important in bringing in natural light and the view of the outside environment into the space. The space is attractive and comfortable. Noah’s development of the project fully met our expectation and desires for the space.”

“Noah Demarest has been a joy to work with on our Belle Sherman Cottages development in Ithaca. From the beginning, Noah understood exactly what we were trying to accomplish with the project and worked closely with me to design a residential neighborhood that is both visually appealing and financially successful.”

“I just wanted to say that we had a really, really great meeting today with Rob. He was kind to us and had good suggestions all around, but was happy to entertain our ideas. I came out of it thinking what a pleasure it was to work with you guys. Thank you for letting us work with you on this project!”

“We have a stone house built in the late '30s; it's a bit unusual in design, but has a lot of charm, and is in a beautiful setting in an historic community. The idea of putting on an addition was very daunting in that it entailed a high level of complexity and a difficult build, but we were feeling very pinched for space and decided we had to take it on. Noah instantly understood our aesthetic sensibilities and site concerns and within a very short time had drawn us a plan that exactly met our needs but which also showed respect for and complemented in every way the eccentric charm of our house. He was a delight to work with throughout a long and complicated process. We could not be more pleased with the result and give STREAM Collaborative our strongest endorsement. We look forward to working with them again when we renovate our kitchen.”
