Finger Lakes ReUse Center
STREAM Collaborative is working with the Finger Lakes ReUse Center to develop a new main headquarters in the City of Ithaca. Their new building’s life history is most recently as an education center and originally constructed as one of the first grocery stores in the area. The current project involves the removal of several partition walls to open up the main retail floor and to create a much improved facility for receiving and processing donated building materials and household goods. The new facility provides the ReUse Center with classroom space for workforce training and serves as the new home for the Tompkins County Sustainability Center. The combined programming of these organizations effectively complements the mission of re-use as a primary tenet of sustainability in the Finger Lakes.
